Ok for beginner to learn a hard fingerstyle guitar song?

Michael asks…
Ok for beginner to learn a hard fingerstyle guitar song?
I only know how to play some easy songs on the guitar (i.e. hey there delilah or i will follow you into the dark). I’ve been playing on and off for the past 1.5 years. I’ve lost all of my callus on my fingers.
Now I want to get back into playing the guitar , and I will have a lot more time to practicing over the next year or two. I only play fingerstyle guitar. I have now considered getting private lessons 30min per week. I want to play Field of Gold (sting). Should I persevere and try to learn this song over the next 2-3 months? Or should I keep practicing easy songs, then learn some intermediate songs, and then hard songs?
Any advise is greatly appreciated.

answers:
I would try and learn Field of Gold because that seems to be your motivation to pick up the guitar.
If you find that it is too hard for you at the moment keep practicing and improve your skill but make Field of Gold your goal.

Can you play electric guitar songs on an acoustic guitar?
This is probably a dumb question, but I want to buy a Beatles book for guitar and its for electric guitar but I only have an acoustic, so is it possible to play electric guitar chords on an acoustic guitar?
Thanks so much!

answers:
Of course you can play them! Especially The Beatles! Their songs fit wonderful on any type of guitar. And it’s not a dumb question, it’s normal for someone to ask. When I first started to play, I was wondering that too!

Electric Guitar Songs with E5 A5 B5 Power Chords?
Anyone know any songs I could learn with these chords (apart from I Love Rock and Roll), or even songs with those 3 chords plus 1 or 2 more.
Preferably songs from bands like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Kasabian.
Thanks.

answers:
Well, most modern rock songs have nothing but power chords in them. Using those specific ones, I couldn’t say, but just look up anything by any popular rock band.

Betty asks…
What is the difference between bass guitar chords and electric guitar chords in a song?
My friend is trying to learn Guitar, and he wants to know. I think he wants to know if there even IS a difference.

answers:
Bass doesn’t exactly play “chords”. A bass plays single bass notes at a time. You don’t ever hear a series of notes played at once like guitar chords. Listen to the bass in rap songs or any other song where the bass is noticeable.
